55 Trees Planted to Green Rawa Terate Public Cemetery

A total of 55 trees were planted in the new area of Rawa Terate Public Cemetery (TPU) on Jalan TPU Cantang, RW 04, Rawa Terate, Cakung, East Jakarta, Friday (1/17).

"This activity is carried out to green the area,"

East Jakarta City Park and Forestry (Tamhut) Sub-agency Head, Dwi Ponangsera said, the tree planting was carried out to green the social and public facility areas in TPU.

Besides, the new area is still lacking in greenery, thus more trees are needed to green the area before the TPU is opened to the public.

"55 trees planted are consisting of 50 yellow tabebuia trees and five blackboard trees. In this location, there are only angsana and kedondong trees," he stated.

According to Dwi, planting more shady trees is expected to make the 11,390-square-meter TPU area greener and more refreshed.

East Jakarta Tamhut Sub-agency's Greenlane and Cemetery Section Head, Made Widhi Adnyana Surya Pratita mentioned, 30 personnel were involved in planting trees which carried out in the Friday Planting program.

"This activity is carried out to green the area while preparing for the opening of the TPU with its new face. Thus when visiting the place, people can enjoy fresh air and green scenery," he conveyed.
